Design and Graphics Assistant

About the role

Uganda Christian University is looking for a full-time Design and Graphics Assistant in Kampala (Kamwokya). The role covers graphic design support, social media visuals, branding compliance and event promotion, working closely with academic and administrative departments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce digital and print materials such as posters, flyers, banners and infographics for the University's academic and community outreach activities, and make revisions to existing designs based on feedback.
• Prepare visual content for social media platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and support online campaigns for academic programmes and university events; keep an organised archive of digital content.
• Maintain consistency in visual identity, including logos, typography, colour schemes and messaging.
• Design, update and maintain visual and multimedia content for the University websites, and assist with photo editing and video clipping where required.
• Help prepare promotional materials for events and provide photography, videography and basic editing support during events.
• Work with academic and administrative departments, providing design support for admissions, marketing and public relations.
• Perform other official duties assigned from time to time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts or a related field from a recognised institution of higher learning.
• At least two years of experience in graphic design, visual communication or a related field in a busy environment.
• High level of integrity and commitment, hardworking and able to finish tasks on time.
• Able to work independently and support a wider team, paying close attention to detail.
• Must be a committed and practicing Christian.

Required skills

• Ability to prepare artwork creatively for print and digital publication.
• Knowledge of photography, photo editing and basic video editing is an added advantage.
