Design Coordination Lead

About the role

Brick by Brick Construction Company Ltd, a design‑and‑build social enterprise based in Masaka, Uganda, is seeking a Design Coordination Lead. The role will oversee design coordination, BIM integration and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure all design outputs are constructible, climate‑responsive and compliant with Ugandan regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination of architectural and engineering design deliverables and ensure consistency of design intent across all project stages.
• Review and align multidisciplinary inputs into coordinated outputs, enforcing climate‑responsive and constructible design principles.
• Manage Revit‑based BIM coordination, model integration, clash detection and maintain data integrity, model standards and coordination protocols.
• Enforce BIM execution standards across projects and support statutory approval processes with the National Building Review Board.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, models and documentation to guarantee practical, coordinated and buildable designs.
• Provide construction‑phase support by responding to RFIs, technical queries and resolving design coordination issues on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering with a Diploma in Architecture (or equivalent qualifications).
• Proven experience in design coordination, BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation and regulatory approval processes in Uganda.
