Driver for Child‑Centered Community Development Program

About the role

The Driver will provide safe, timely, and reliable transportation for staff, visitors and goods to support the Child‑Centered Community Development (CCCD) program in Upper Madi Okollo.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate weekly transport schedules and manage staff transport requests.
• Provide safe, timely transport of staff, visitors and goods, including airport pick‑ups and drop‑offs.
• Assist with loading/unloading materials and support logistical needs during field activities.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean, road‑worthy condition, conduct daily checks and routine servicing.
• Keep accurate vehicle records, submit monthly reports and ensure timely renewal of insurance, licences and inspections.
• Support office logistics such as postage, collection of purchases and handling of correspondence.
• Promote and enforce child safeguarding, protection and PSEA policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Uganda Certificate of Education.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• At least five years’ experience driving four‑wheel vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and basic first‑aid skills.
• High integrity, commitment to child‑safeguarding and alignment with Christian values.

Required skills

• Defensive driving and safety awareness.
• Vehicle maintenance and routine inspection.
• Basic first‑aid response.
• Mechanical troubleshooting of vehicle issues.
