Retail Manager

About the role

M-KOPA Uganda is seeking a Retail Manager to own and lead day‑to‑day retail operations across service centres, stocking points, depots, partner and telco outlets, zones and repair centres. This is a high‑accountability, field‑facing role responsible for setting standards, managing multi‑channel stock, and ensuring network compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Govern end‑to‑end multi‑channel stock operations, including device aging, rebalancing and loss prevention across dozens of sites.
• Develop and execute retail network strategy, overseeing openings, relocations and closures with compliance.
• Configure and maintain retail systems and tools such as M‑KOPAnet warehouse setup, AMT outlet management, Freshdesk logging and dashboards.
• Manage third‑party and partner performance, set operating standards and resolve escalations.
• Coordinate device swaps, repairs and servicing with Care Center, Repair, QA and Training teams.
• Lead and mentor retail teams, act as HRBP for the function, and own budgets, cost reporting and EHS/security compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience leading multi‑site operational teams at scale, preferably in retail or inventory management.
• Proven track record in third‑party/partner contract management and loss prevention.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, monitor KPIs and make cost‑effective decisions.

Required skills

• Experience with Freshdesk or similar ticketing systems.
• Proficiency in using dashboards and data‑analysis tools for operational monitoring.
