About the role
World Vision Uganda is seeking a reliable driver to operate its vehicles and support the delivery of goods, packages, and mail to project sites across Imvepi and the surrounding district. The role contributes directly to the organization’s mission of helping vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities
- Drive World Vision vehicles and authorized passengers to approved destinations in line with the organization’s vehicle usage policy.
- Deliver packages, goods, and mail to specified locations while adhering to all relevant policies.
- Perform pre‑journey vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tyre pressure, insurance, licence) and carry out minor repairs and regular maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle hygiene, record travel logs, and submit monthly vehicle reports.
- Report any major or minor damages, accidents, or security incidents to the supervisor.
- Observe traffic rules, speed limits, and park the vehicle in designated areas.
- Dress professionally according to the company dress code.
Required profile
- Minimum O‑Level certificate.
- Valid driving permit with at least three years of driving experience.
- Driving licence classes B, D1 and any C category (Class A1 is a plus).
- Computer literate and able to communicate effectively in English (and any local language).
- Committed practicing Christian willing to participate in daily devotions and weekly chapel services.
- Certificate in Defensive Driving from a recognized school.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and first‑aid skills.
- Understanding of national road‑safety rules and regulations.
- Experience in NGO or emergency‑response environments is essential.
