Drone Team Coordinator - EACOP

About the role

Q-Sourcing, acting on behalf of its client EACOP, is recruiting a Drone Team Coordinator to work at site in Uganda. The role reports to the Security Manager and supervises drone operators and pilots on each deployment. It covers pipeline infrastructure, above-ground installations, main camps and pipe yards, and remote field locations, with frequent travel to operational areas and security outposts. The coordinator ensures safe, secure and compliant drone operations that deliver aerial intelligence for asset protection.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and oversee drone missions, ensuring surveillance coverage of EACOP facilities and compliance with flight authorizations
• Support patrol verification, route monitoring, incident response, investigations and emergencies, and keep records of operations
• Ensure compliance with civil aviation regulations, operating permits, company HSE requirements and risk management
• Collect, store and share drone imagery and video, and produce reports and briefings for the Security Team
• Take part in drone training programmes and ensure operators hold the required qualifications and certifications
• Liaise with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority and other authorities, and support audits and inspections
• Inspect drones before and after flights, track and charge batteries safely, and maintain ground control stations, controllers and telemetry links
• Maintain an inventory of hardware and spare parts and log maintenance, firmware updates and repairs

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Aviation, Security Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• Remote Pilot Aircraft System (RPAS) licence and recognized drone pilot certification
• Experience coordinating drone contractors and service providers, and in aerial surveillance and intelligence gathering
• Experience in oil and gas, critical infrastructure or industrial operations preferred
• Knowledge of security standards such as ICoCA, ASIS, IOGP, ANSI/API 780, ISPS Code, ISO 31010, ISO 18788 and ISO 28007-1, and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights
