Education Manager

About the role

The Education Manager will lead the integration, design, and delivery of education programmes across Uganda, ensuring alignment with World Vision Uganda’s strategic framework and Theory of Change. Reporting to the Programme Development & Impact Director, the role combines strategic planning, grant management, and partnership representation to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate education into community‑level sector plans and ensure strategic alignment with the organisation’s Theory of Change.
• Lead the design, budgeting, and approval of Integrated Programme implementation plans, including national business plans and grant proposals.
• Collaborate with the MEAL team to develop and implement an evidence, learning, and research agenda.
• Monitor education performance against OIOS Level 1 and 2 indicators, drive innovation through piloting and scaling.
• Oversee grant start‑up, implementation, reporting, and completion, ensuring compliance with donor and community accountability.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, act on audit findings, and support the preparation of the National Office annual report.
• Represent World Vision Uganda in ministries, networks, inter‑agency fora, and build strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing education programmes, including design, implementation, and monitoring.
• Strong background in grant management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Ability to develop national‑level business plans and integrate sector interventions.
• Experience working with MEAL systems and evidence‑based learning frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with ministries, networks, and donor agencies.
