Electrical & Instrumentation Manager – Uganda

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Manager will lead all E&I activities for a distillery/ethanol manufacturing operation in Uganda. This senior position requires extensive technical expertise and proven leadership in a process‑industry environment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all electrical and instrumentation functions, ensuring reliable plant operation.
• Supervise a multidisciplinary E&I team, handling recruitment, performance management and development.
• Develop and manage the E&I budget, controlling costs while delivering projects on schedule.
• Lead project delivery for new installations, upgrades and maintenance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align E&I activities with business objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the E&I function within the distillery or related process industry.
• At least 10 years in a managerial role with responsibilities for team supervision, budgeting and project delivery.
• Proven track record of leading E&I operations in a multinational or similar environment.
• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communication Systems or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications.
