Electrical & Instrumentation Manager – Uganda

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Manager will lead the E&I function for a distillery/ethanol production facility in Uganda. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and compliant operation of all electrical and instrumentation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the E&I team, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategy.
• Manage budgets, procurement, and project delivery for all E&I initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimise plant performance.
• Drive continuous improvement, reliability engineering and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Represent the E&I function in stakeholder meetings and multinational project reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the E&I function within the distillery or related process industry.
• At least 10 years in a managerial role with responsibility for team supervision, budgeting and project delivery.
• Proven track record of leading E&I operations in a multinational or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and safety compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
