Enrolled Nurse

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide essential bedside and clinical care to clients in a community health setting, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Officer. This full‑time role involves direct patient interaction, medication administration, and support for various health programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive clients, record vital signs, weight and basic clinical observations.
• Provide bedside care including hygiene, feeding assistance, positioning and comfort measures.
• Administer medications, injections and immunisations as prescribed.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes and other basic clinical procedures.
• Support antenatal, postnatal, child health, immunisation and family planning clinics.
• Assist in emergency care, alerting senior staff to any changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate client records, nursing notes and vaccination charts.
• Prepare daily nursing returns and statistics for submission.
• Monitor stock levels of medical supplies and report shortages.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Provide client education on hygiene, medication use, nutrition and self‑care.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse qualification.
• Minimum 12 months of nursing experience (mid‑level).
• Ability to work under supervision of senior clinical staff.
• Commitment to confidentiality and accurate record‑keeping.
• Willingness to integrate holistic care, including spiritual support where appropriate.
