Ethics & Compliance Officer

About the role

Africa Global Logistics Uganda (AGLU), part of the MSC Group, is looking for a Compliance Officer to support the implementation of its Group Compliance Programme and uphold strong ethical standards across operations. The post is based at the head office in Kampala, reports to the Compliance Delegate within the Legal & Compliance department, is full-time and permanent, with a start date of 1 September 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Local Anti-Corruption Committee by organizing meetings, tracking compliance documentation and keeping accurate records.
• Lead training and awareness initiatives on anti-corruption, the Code of Conduct and third-party due diligence.
• Maintain compliance registers (gifts, conflicts of interest, sponsorships) and ensure reporting KPIs are met.
• Assist in risk mapping and due diligence for third-party suppliers and customers.
• Prepare and organize documentation for audits and support corrective action plans.
• Conduct international sanctions checks and escalate critical red flags where needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Postgraduate training in Compliance, Risk Management or Ethics is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, audit or risk-related roles.
• Strong ethical standards, discretion and confidentiality, and a team-oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Understanding of anti-corruption laws, compliance frameworks and risk management processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
• Experience with learning management systems such as Syfadis or Academy is desirable.
