Finance & Administration Manager

About the role

The Sisters of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary are seeking an experienced Finance & Administration Manager to lead the finance department of the Children in Need (CHIN) programme in Mukono, Uganda. Reporting directly to the Project Coordinator, the manager will ensure sound financial practices, regulatory compliance, and efficient resource management to support the organisation's mission.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations of the CHIN programme, monitoring performance and providing decision‑making insights.
• Maintain daily cash‑flow records, ensure transparency and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with the programme’s Financial Policy and the Sisters’ Accounting Manual.
• Prepare and maintain up‑to‑date books of accounts.
• Collaborate with management to develop, monitor and adjust budgets and forecasts.
• Apply financial modelling to support business development and project proposals.
• Provide financial advice to the management team and support departmental budgeting processes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in financial management within NGOs or similar organisations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ability to work independently and report directly to senior management.
