Franchise Development Manager

About the role

The Franchise Development Manager will lead the expansion of SMARTEC ELECTRONICS’ multi‑brand retail network across Uganda. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for identifying new territories, recruiting qualified franchise partners, and ensuring each new store meets the company’s operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Map and prioritize high‑potential geographic territories for new retail storefronts.
• Source, vet, pitch to and onboard qualified franchise investors and business partners.
• Negotiate commercial contracts, legal terms and territorial rights with franchisees.
• Oversee showroom design, setup and initial inventory stocking plans.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and site visits to ensure adherence to E‑Store standards.
• Monitor franchise sales performance and implement operational turnaround strategies where needed.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 48 months (4 years) of experience in franchise development, retail expansion or related business development.
• Proven track record of successful partner recruitment and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical, project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Willingness to travel to franchise locations for onboarding and audits.
