Functional Business Analyst

About the role

Metaphor Services is seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst to support retail banking platform initiatives. The role focuses on gathering requirements, documenting processes, and ensuring successful delivery of banking solutions across consumer lending, teller/payments, and account opening domains.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document functional requirements from business stakeholders.
• Create functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings.
• Understand and document end‑to‑end retail banking processes.
• Own business UAT, including test case design, execution, and defect triage.
• Collaborate closely with developers, vendors, and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Use SQL to validate data and transactions.
• Support banking platform implementations, conversions, and enhancements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with retail banking platforms.
• Background in at least one area: consumer lending, teller/payments, or sales & service/account opening.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering and UAT execution.
• Ability to explain end‑to‑end banking processes to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• SQL for data validation.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Familiarity with banking platforms such as Argo, Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry, or Temenos.
