GBV Caseworker – Support for Women & Girls in Refugee Settlements

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a dedicated GBV Caseworker to provide survivor‑centered case management and psychosocial support to women and girls in refugee settlements across Kiryandongo, Palorinya, Palabek and Adjumani. You will work closely with the GBV Officer to ensure safety, confidentiality and dignity for all survivors.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the GBV Officer to design and oversee activities for women and girls.
• Deliver timely, age‑appropriate case management and psychosocial services following GBV guiding principles.
• Identify available services and coordinate referrals based on survivor consent.
• Advocate with partner organisations to secure additional confidential services.
• Record client information in the GBVIMS data system while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Develop and maintain zone‑specific referral pathways for GBV cases.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment through mobile teams and Women Centers.
• Support capacity‑building and coordination, including training local partners on case management and GBV concepts.
• Maintain positive relationships with Women Committees and community structures.

Required profile

• Experience in gender‑based violence case management or related humanitarian work.
• Familiarity with GBV guiding principles: safety, confidentiality, respect, and non‑discrimination.
• Ability to work with refugee populations and respect survivor wishes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GBVIMS (GBV Information Management System).
