Gender Coordinator

About the role

The Gender Coordinator will lead gender‑responsive planning and implementation for Save the Children’s projects in Kyegegwa, Uganda. You will work closely with technical teams, partners and donors to ensure gender equity is embedded in all activities and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gender analyses to identify needs, barriers and opportunities in target districts.
• Develop and oversee regional gender strategies, action plans and gender‑responsive monitoring frameworks.
• Integrate gender considerations into economic empowerment, GBV, SRH and other program components.
• Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building workshops for staff, partners and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Gender Specialist to address capacity gaps and mentor teams on gender equality and GBV.
• Coordinate with consortium partners, ensure compliance with donor regulations and produce high‑quality reports.
• Represent Save the Children in external meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in gender analysis, gender mainstreaming and GBV programming.
• Strong understanding of child safeguarding, safety and security policies.
• Proven ability to work with diverse partners and build capacity in multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
