Graduate HR Generalist - APAC

About the role

Canonical, a global open-source software and operating system provider, is looking for a Graduate HR Generalist to support its APAC region. The role is fully remote and offers the chance to help shape the HR function for the future. It suits someone who works independently, takes a hands-on approach and communicates professionally with colleagues at all levels.

Key responsibilities

• Answer team members' questions about employment and contracts, including onboarding, global benefits and employment verifications, escalating when necessary
• Maintain the HRIS with accurate and timely processing of employee changes and new joiners
• Own global projects such as engagement, training or culture initiatives
• Support managers and employees on HR processes and help drive the people strategy for your area
• Process new hires, including country-specific onboarding documents, file creation, systems set-up and introductory reviews
• Support employees with benefits enrollment and payroll data, and liaise with payroll for salary payments
• Create purchase orders for internal departments
• Audit employment files and systems regularly to keep them up to date, accurate and GDPR compliant
• Improve processes continuously and suggest improvements

Required profile

• Track record of achievement from high school and graduate studies
• Internship experience in an HR/People team is beneficial, preferably in technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritise complex workloads, manage time and work under pressure
• Honesty, integrity and ability to handle confidential data
• Flexible, adaptable and willing to take initiative
• Ambition to grow a career in HR and willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events
