Head of Business Development

About the role

Fido is seeking a dynamic Head of Business Development to lead the expansion of its digital financial services in Uganda. You will drive product innovation, forge strategic partnerships, and shape market strategy to accelerate growth.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Product team to develop new digital finance solutions aligned with the roadmap.
• Conduct market research and gather customer insights to inform product design.
• Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships that enable product launches.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
• Gather competitive intelligence, analyse industry trends, and make data‑driven decisions.
• Design and execute expansion strategies for existing and new products, including debt‑raising initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and foster a high‑performing business development team.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Strategy, Product Development, Digital Banking, Fintech or Partnerships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven track record of launching innovative digital financial products.
• Extensive experience in negotiating and managing strategic partnerships.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with a focus on market intelligence and data‑driven decision making.
