Headteacher – International School

About the role

The Headteacher will provide strategic leadership for Kampala Diplomatic International School, an international boarding and day school serving students aged 4 to 18. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for shaping the school’s academic direction and nurturing an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the implementation of the curriculum, ensuring alignment with the Cambridge International British Curriculum and international standards.
• Lead and manage faculty performance, fostering high‑quality teaching and continuous professional development.
• Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote the school’s vision, values, and mission.
• Ensure compliance with educational regulations and uphold rigorous academic standards.
• Promote a diverse, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

Required profile

• Strong background in curriculum development and pedagogy.
• Comprehensive understanding of education practices and educational leadership.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff, students, and parents.
• Proven ability to manage teams, implement strategic initiatives, and maintain high academic standards.
• Experience with the Cambridge International British Curriculum is highly desirable.
• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Prior experience as a Headteacher in an international school or similar leadership role is advantageous.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse school environment.
