Hygiene Supervisor

About the role

The Hygiene Supervisor will ensure that our bakery production areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance. You will lead a small hygiene team, work closely with production, engineering and QA, and help maintain a strong food safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside the hygiene team to complete daily cleaning schedules.
• Clean bakery production areas, including equipment, floors, drains, walls and work surfaces.
• Support dismantling and re‑assembly of machinery for deep cleaning.
• Operate hygiene equipment such as foamers, jet washers and other industrial cleaning tools.
• Monitor hygiene standards, address issues immediately and complete all required documentation.
• Ensure safe handling and correct use of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements.
• Support training and development of hygiene team members.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and QA teams to maintain food safety standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on attitude with pride in maintaining high standards.
• Experience working in a hygiene or cleaning role within food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lead by example and work alongside a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe chemical handling.
• Operation of industrial cleaning equipment (foamers, jet washers, etc.).
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
