Inland and Logistics Services Professional (Uganda)

About the role

The Inland and Logistics Services Professional supports the growth of the Trade‑Based Logistics (TBL) business for CMA CGM Uganda. Reporting administratively to the General Manager and functionally to the Cluster TBL Manager, the role is based in Kampala and works closely with sales, operations and customer teams to convert eligible ocean shipments into TBL solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Send arrival notices, update alternative base ports, and request mandatory SCT instructions from customers.
• Coordinate export bookings, act as primary contact for TBL shippers, and arrange shunting and last‑mile transport.
• Ensure accurate invoicing of CAR 50 and other charges, and confirm collection before shipment release.
• Monitor container movements, link containers to correct bookings, and share draft Bills of Lading with customers.
• Conduct regular visits to inland depots and ICDs to assess handling of TBL units.
• Provide weekly feedback to refine rates, gather market intelligence, and identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales to achieve the targeted 19 % TBL contribution and support customer adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in shipping, commerce, sales or marketing.
• Strong commercial focus with experience in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Ability to work closely with sales, operations and external customers.
