Lead Generator

About the role

The Lead Generator will support Absa’s growth by identifying and nurturing prospective retail customers for the bank’s consumer lending portfolio. Working primarily in the field, you will create high‑quality leads, ensure compliance with KYC and AML standards, and help convert prospects into satisfied borrowers.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and qualify leads for retail sales, focusing on consumer lending products.
• Deliver sales performance by identifying customer needs, cross‑selling and meeting set targets.
• Prepare and submit accurate application forms in line with bank policies and KYC requirements.
• Provide hands‑on sales support, follow‑up on leads and convert them into sales.
• Maintain operational rigor, adhering to health & safety, security, and anti‑money‑laundering regulations.
• Offer timely customer service, resolve queries and complaints, and escalate unresolved issues to the line manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, KYC Helpdesk and Credit to ensure swift processing of applications.
• Participate in continuous learning and development activities and agree on annual performance objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (first or second class) with strong grades in mathematics and English.
• At least two principal passes at A‑level.
• Experience in a front‑line banking sales, marketing or service environment.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to spend significant time in the field making sales pitches.
• Good understanding of competitor products and ability to communicate their advantages.
