Lecturer (Nursing & Midwifery) – Full Time

About the role

The University seeks a qualified Lecturer in Nursing & Midwifery to join its Medical School faculty. The role involves delivering an integrated curriculum, supervising students, and contributing to research and academic service.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in course administration and instruction for the Medical School curriculum.
• Develop and deliver integrated science and clinical content in collaboration with other faculty.
• Employ diverse teaching methods such as case‑based instruction, simulations, team‑based learning and distance education.
• Assess undergraduate and postgraduate student performance and provide feedback.
• Supervise student Microbiology sessions, treatment plans and act as a clinical academic advisor.
• Engage in research aligned with UCUSoM themes, present at meetings and publish original material.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing (or related field) from a recognised institution.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• At least two years of university teaching experience at Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer level, or three years as Tutorial Assistant.
• Registration (or eligibility) with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners' Council.
• Evidence of scholarly activity – one publication or research project.
• Commitment to Christian values and continuous professional development.
