Senior Lecturer – Molecular Biology (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University seeks an experienced Senior Lecturer to join its Medical School and lead molecular biology teaching and research. This full‑time position involves curriculum development, student mentorship, and active participation in the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate molecular biology courses within the Medical School curriculum.
• Develop integrated teaching modules that combine basic science and clinical concepts.
• Utilise diverse teaching methods such as case‑based instruction, simulations, team‑based learning and distance education.
• Assess undergraduate and postgraduate student performance through formative and summative evaluations.
• Provide individual academic support, feedback and guidance to medical students.
• Collaborate with curriculum committees, faculty and administrators to achieve program objectives.
• Supervise student laboratory sessions and act as a clinical academic advisor.
• Conduct and publish original research in molecular biology or related fields aligned with university research themes.
• Represent the university at relevant conferences and research meetings.

Required profile

• PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from a recognised institution.
• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
• Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory Technology (or MBBS as an advantage).
• Completed specialist training in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology.
• Minimum three years of university‑level teaching experience at Lecturer rank.
• At least two peer‑reviewed publications in internationally recognised journals.
• Eligibility for registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Commitment to medical research, high integrity and practising Christian values.
