Logistics and Procurement Officer

About the role

The Sisters of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary are seeking a dedicated Logistics and Procurement Officer to support their multi‑sector development programme in central Uganda. The role ensures timely, efficient, and transparent procurement and logistics services for field activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of goods and services in line with organisational and donor policies, including RFQs, bid evaluations and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, vendor databases and coordinate payments with finance.
• Organise logistical arrangements for field activities such as transport, accommodation and venue bookings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory records, ensure proper storage, labelling and distribution of project materials.
• Track asset usage, conduct regular inventory audits and support emergency procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with SSHJM‑WACFO and donor regulations, support audits and prepare monthly reports.
• Liaise with field staff and other departments to forecast needs and develop procurement plans aligned with budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or CILT is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in procurement and logistics within an NGO or similar environment.
