Logistics Handling Operations Administrator – Customs Brokerage

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Handling Operations Administrator to manage customs brokerage services and maintain clearance lead times. You will work closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure smooth customs processes for import and export shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute efficient clearance of goods.
• Prepare accurate customs declarations, capturing tax and duty entries promptly.
• Prepare and process import/export documentation in line with customs regulations.
• Follow up with customs offices to secure timely entry releases.
• Resolve queries with the Uganda Revenue Authority regarding declaration documents.
• Support the Bonds section by managing customs bonds and insurance certificates, and retire bonds upon warehousing or re‑export.
• Update the cargo tracking system with new information as received.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuous, smooth customs brokerage operations.

Required profile

• University degree in Transport and Logistics Management or a related field.
• East African Customs and Freight Forwarding certificate (desirable).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to work under pressure and handle tight timelines.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• High integrity, self‑driven attitude and commitment to teamwork and customer focus.
