Maintenance Specialist (TIL)

About the role

The Maintenance Specialist (MEI) will lead mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance activities during the commissioning and start‑up phase of the Tilenga Project in Uganda. Reporting to the Preservation / Maintenance Lead, you will ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of maintenance tasks in line with the Commissioning Execution Plan and vendor manuals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and execute MEI maintenance, commissioning and start‑up tasks, including alignment of rotating equipment, electrical loop checks, and instrumentation calibration.
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on rotating/static equipment, electrical panels, and instrumented systems.
• Develop and support preventive maintenance programs and preservation plans.
• Document all activities accurately in the Systems Completion Database (ICAPS).
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and coordinate with Material Management for timely procurement.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and commissioning teams to align maintenance schedules with project milestones.
• Provide technical input for selection of spares, lubricants, and consumables.
• Mentor junior technicians and national staff on maintenance procedures and safety practices.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 8 years (96 months) of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams in a commissioning environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Excellent documentation and inventory management skills.
