Manager Credit and Operations - Logbook Financing

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is recruiting on behalf of its client Goldmine Finance a Manager Credit and Operations to work in Kampala, Uganda. The role reports to the Managing Director and supervises the Deputy Manager Credit and Operations, Relationship Managers and other regular relationships. It oversees the day-to-day credit and operations processes and is accountable for delivering disbursement targets while keeping the loan portfolio healthy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the search for prospective clients, drive client retention and repeat lending, and grow the logbook financing portfolio
• Deliver monthly and annual disbursement targets and keep Portfolio at Risk (PAR) within set limits
• Review loan applications and their status, handle disputed debts and negotiate payments within agreed terms
• Calculate and propose interest rates, guide due diligence with the legal department, oversee loan approvals and review credit reports
• Ensure all loan transactions comply with company policy and report to the Managing Director on disbursements, PAR, arrears, recoveries and pipeline
• Mentor and coach the Deputy Manager and Relationship Managers, conduct performance appraisals and recommend performance-improvement strategies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Banking and Finance or a relevant field
• 3-5 years of experience in a sales environment, preferably in a financial institution
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in logbook financing, including valuation, perfection of security and recovery
• Proven track record of meeting disbursement targets while keeping PAR within limits
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
