Mental Health Counselor

About the role

The Mental Health Counselor provides therapy, support, and guidance to individuals, couples, families, and groups facing psychological, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Working in a variety of settings, the counselor helps clients understand themselves, cope with difficulties, and achieve meaningful change.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Build and maintain therapeutic relationships using evidence‑based approaches.
• Deliver counseling sessions for issues such as addiction, grief, crisis, eating disorders, trauma, and substance abuse.
• Collaborate with clinics, hospitals, schools, community agencies, or private practice environments.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
