MEP Sales Engineer (Remote)

About the role

VAKRUM International is seeking a motivated MEP Sales Engineer to drive business growth for its mechanical, electrical, plumbing and industrial fire safety solutions across East Africa. This full‑time remote position focuses on generating new opportunities, building client relationships and delivering technically accurate proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and nurture leads for MEP and fire protection projects.
• Conduct virtual and on‑site client meetings to understand requirements.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Manage the sales pipeline, submit quotations and tender documents, and negotiate contracts within company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records in CRM and ensure smooth handover to project teams after award.
• Track customer satisfaction, pursue repeat business and provide post‑sale support.
• Perform market research, competitor analysis and represent the company at industry events.

Required profile

• Proven sales and business development experience in engineering or construction services.
• Technical understanding of MEP systems and industrial fire protection, with ability to read basic drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience selling to commercial, industrial or governmental clients in East Africa is a plus.
