Night School Secondary Language Instructor – Arabic or German

About the role

We are seeking qualified instructors to supervise, teach, and evaluate students enrolled in night‑school secondary language credit classes. The position involves delivering full‑year Arabic or German courses during evening sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum for Arabic (LYABD1, LYACU1, LYADU1) or German (LWGBD1, LWGCU1, LWGDU1) language courses.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and classroom participation.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
• Collaborate with school administration to ensure compliance with board policies.

Required profile

• Senior teaching qualification in the target language preferred.
• If senior qualification is not held, an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) teaching certificate in any subject is required, together with demonstrated language fluency or teaching experience.
• Elementary‑qualified applicants with strong language knowledge are welcome, though secondary‑qualified candidates are preferred.

Required skills

• Fluency in Arabic or German.
• Ability to design and deliver secondary‑level language instruction.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of $61.50, inclusive of vacation and statutory holiday pay.
• Evening work schedule: Wednesdays 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
• Teaching location at Abbey Park High School.
