People Operations Associate

About the role

Wave is building a cash‑less Africa and needs a People Operations Associate to keep its Kampala and up‑country offices running smoothly. You will own HR processes, office administration and support the team in delivering a great employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and administrative systems for Wave Uganda.
• Onboard new staff, manage employee records (compensation, benefits, promotions, performance reviews, terminations) and process work permits.
• Oversee day‑to‑day office operations, including front‑desk, utilities, security, supplies, equipment and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Coordinate acquisition of new office spaces and related logistics.
• Supervise, mentor and train office staff, manage budgets and procurements.
• Arrange domestic and international travel and organise corporate events such as happy hours, retreats and conferences.
• Prepare presentations and management‑level reports.

Required profile

• Fast‑paced, data‑driven professional with experience in HR and office administration.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to build efficient systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to act as the primary people‑related business partner.
• Willingness to travel to up‑country locations as needed.
