Physiotherapist ERT

About the role

International Medical Corps is seeking a qualified physiotherapist to join its Emergency Response Team (ERT) in Kamwokya, Uganda. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive physiotherapy services to patients recovering from injury, surgery or illness, ensuring optimal mobility and pain relief.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, reviewing medical history and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using appropriate techniques, exercises and modalities.
• Provide rehabilitation services, including therapeutic exercises, stretches and manual techniques.
• Implement pain management strategies and educate patients on self‑care and injury prevention.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document all interventions accurately.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Required profile

• Relevant physiotherapy qualification (e.g., BPT, DPT) and registration where applicable.
• Minimum of 1 month of professional experience in a clinical or humanitarian setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
• Strong communication skills and empathy towards patients.
