Power Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Power Engineer to manage and maintain high‑capacity three‑phase UPS systems, emergency standby generators, and medium‑ and low‑voltage switchgear. The role ensures reliable power supply, optimal load balancing, and proactive fault detection across our facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly health monitoring, load analysis and battery‑impedance testing of three‑phase UPS systems.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, battery replacements and capacitor upgrades performed by OEMs.
• Maintain optimal load balancing across UPS phases to maximise efficiency and avoid overloads.
• Manage and test emergency standby diesel generators, including automatic transfer switches (ATS) and fuel‑management systems.
• Coordinate monthly load‑bank testing, fluid analyses and emissions testing.
• Operate, monitor and maintain medium and low voltage switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs) and static transfer switches (STS).
• Interpret electrical single‑line diagrams, execute safe switching procedures and manage breaker coordination protocols.
• Conduct infrared thermal scanning on electrical connections to identify hotspots before failure.

Required profile

• Proven experience with three‑phase UPS systems, emergency standby generators and switchgear equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong analytical skills for load analysis and fault detection.
