A propos du poste

As a Principal Operations Manager (POM) for Zone 12, you will join our senior leadership team to ensure the seamless, safe, and compliant continuity of our strategic road maintenance and incident response contract. This high-impact leadership role is designed to maintain operational stability and client confidence during a maternity leave period, focusing on excellence in execution without structural disruption.

Missions principales

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee routine maintenance, reactive defect repairs, cyclical works, and emergency incident responses.
  • Crisis & Escalation Management: Act as the primary point for operational escalations, providing calm, decisive, and proportionate leadership under pressure.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion a "Safety First" culture, ensuring strict adherence to National Highways requirements, Amey procedures, and all legal obligations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain robust operational relationships with National Highways representatives and proactively manage contractual KPIs and risks.
  • Team Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and support Operations Managers, supervisors, and frontline teams, ensuring their well-being and resilience.
  • Commercial Support: Drive commercial results by consistently applying delivery plans, self-delivery strategies, and productivity expectations in collaboration with planning and construction teams.

Profil recherché

  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within large-scale infrastructure or highways maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships (e.g., National Highways or similar public bodies).
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to remain composed during critical incidents.
  • Expertise in managing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to balance operational delivery with commercial and budgetary objectives.
