Project Assistant

About the role

Raising The Village is seeking a motivated Project Assistant to support community‑driven initiatives aimed at reducing extreme poverty in Sironko, Uganda. You will work closely with the Project Officer and partner villages to implement project designs, facilitate trainings, and ensure compliance with project methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project design review meetings, provide feedback, and update budgets before implementation.
• Co‑facilitate training activities covering financial literacy, health and sanitation, agriculture, livestock management, and community savings groups.
• Prepare lists of required goods and services, verify inputs before distribution, and support procurement logistics.
• Conduct regular follow‑up visits, guide households and community groups, and identify risks with mitigation recommendations.
• Develop and manage work plans, submit weekly field reports, and assist with donor reporting and proposal writing.
• Attend weekly staff and cluster meetings, submit financial requests, and maintain a photo repository for data tracking.
• Provide feedback to improve project methodologies and suggest sustainable activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in community development or project implementation.
• Strong training and facilitation abilities.
• Technical and administrative competence.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Fluency in Lugisu and English.
