Project Officer – Agriculture (UCSATP)

About the role

The Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) seeks a Project Officer to lead the implementation, monitoring and reporting of all agriculture‑related activities. You will work directly with farmer groups, local partners and CRS staff to improve productivity, resilience and market access in refugee‑hosting districts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor farmer training and extension services through Farmer Field Schools and demonstration plots.
• Coordinate the distribution and proper use of agricultural inputs, ensuring climate‑smart crop and livestock practices.
• Promote sustainable land management, including agroforestry, soil conservation and water‑wise techniques.
• Strengthen farmer groups, facilitate market linkages and support agribusiness development.
• Integrate nutrition‑sensitive agriculture approaches into project activities.
• Prepare regular progress reports, data collection and impact assessments for CRS and donors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in implementing, monitoring and reporting on agricultural development projects.
• Strong knowledge of climate‑smart agriculture, farmer extension methods and sustainable land management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including refugees, host communities and government agencies.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
