Agri Tech Specialist

About the role

The Agri Tech Specialist provides technical agronomy support for AB InBev’s operations in Tanzania, covering all crop varieties and new origination programmes. Working closely with country agronomists, field officers and extension staff, the role drives yield, quality and sustainability improvements while ensuring cost‑competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Identify skill gaps and deliver technical training to the in‑country agronomy team.
• Guide trial managers and R&D specialists on research to improve crop yield and quality.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, inputs and sustainable practices.
• Provide on‑farm technical guidance, troubleshoot issues and expand the farmer base.
• Support sustainability targets through field assessments, data collection and GHG reporting.
• Maintain relationships with government bodies, chemical suppliers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• BSc (Hon) in Agronomy or related field with field‑crop experience.
• Minimum 5 years of agronomy experience, including work in seed or FMCG companies.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking and ability to operate in complex, ambiguous settings.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel up to 60 % of the time.
