Regional Collections Manager

About the role

The Regional Collections Manager will lead the collection efforts for Sun King's PAYG products across the region. You will analyse payment data, provide insights to improve repayment rates, and ensure the offering meets customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data analysis using appropriate tools and share insights to enhance portfolio quality.
• Develop daily, weekly and monthly strategies to improve collection rates from delinquent customers.
• Conduct mystery market visits to assess sales quality and gather regional insights.
• Provide weekly updates to Sales and Risk teams on field interventions and results.
• Design, pilot and operationalise collection processes to boost repayments and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to repossess products when needed.
• Report product tampering and support fraud mitigation actions as defined by the Risk function.
• Train field agents on repossession and difficult collection scenarios.
• Drive follow‑up rhythms with agents to ensure timely collection calls and repossession tasks.
• Recruit and set up cash collection centres in key areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar field‑focused collections role, preferably with rural customers.
• Experience in micro‑finance, fintech or banking credit collections and debt recovery.
• Strong numerical aptitude, problem‑solving ability and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and work seamlessly with cross‑functional teams.
