Relationship Manager - Elite Client Portfolio

About the role

Bank of Africa Group BMCE Africa is hiring a Relationship Manager for its Agence Elite in Kampala, within the Personal Banking department. The role maintains and grows the bank's borrowing and depositing business with its high-net-worth client base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, expand and develop the centre's customer portfolios and on-board, nurture and sustain new Elite relationships with growth potential.
• Promote and maintain high customer service standards to maximise returns from existing relationships and attract new business.
• Negotiate and sell products and services adapted to customer needs in line with the Private Banking strategy.
• Monitor risk, ensure debt collection and follow up maturity dates (term deposits and credit facilities).
• Improve and update the customer database and advise customers on their internal and external expectations.
• Analyse the centre's geography, competition and customer base, and ensure weekly sales plans are in place.
• Follow up daily on prospective and actual customer interviews and sales, report weekly to the manager, and review personal achievements with the Relationship Manager to define action plans.
• Handle temporary overdraft requests and unpaid cheques, collect loan documents and process customer complaints.
• Open accounts, handle credit applications, issue interim and visa statements, ATM cards, saving cards and cheque books, and sell products to meet targets.
• Plan visits to targeted customers and prospects, offer after-sales and advisory services, and take part in marketing campaigns and mass events.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Studies or a related discipline.
• 5 years' experience in banking, marketing or sales.

Required skills

• Good banking knowledge and good market practice knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and leadership skills.
• Planning, organisation and execution skills; computer literate with standard office applications.
