Sales Manager

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead revenue growth for Personal Business, a freelance design practice offering web, graphic and print services. Based in Kampala, this full‑time, on‑site position focuses on acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and nurture leads to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Conduct in‑person and virtual meetings, prepare proposals and quotes, and negotiate contracts.
• Hand off confirmed projects to the design team ensuring smooth transition.
• Develop and implement sales strategies, set targets and track performance against goals.
• Produce regular sales reports and analyse data to inform decision‑making.
• Collaborate with marketing on promotional campaigns and attend local networking events.
• Maintain long‑term client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in prospecting, lead generation and pipeline management.
• Background in consultative selling, client relationship management and contract negotiation, preferably within design or creative services.
• Ability to devise sales strategies, set targets and analyse results.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain design services to non‑technical clients.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Familiarity with basic marketing concepts and collaboration with marketing teams.
• Comfort using CRM or sales‑tracking tools and standard office software.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kampala and engage in local networking.
