Senior Accountant

About the role

Cloudfactory is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead accurate financial record‑keeping, reporting and reconciliations for its operations in Uganda. The role focuses on technical accounting depth, audit readiness and tax compliance, while providing guidance to junior staff and serving as a key contact for auditors, tax authorities and banks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and ensure vendor bills and customer invoices are processed within agreed terms.
• Produce full sets of financial statements—including balance sheet, income statement and cash‑flow statement—for external reporting and annual audit.
• Maintain management accounting reports, conduct trend analysis and support cost‑center and profit‑center reporting.
• Perform regular reconciliations and oversee administrative controls to ensure data integrity.
• Assist with tax compliance, audit preparation and internal control testing.

Required profile

• At least 4 years (48 months) of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and audit processes.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with auditors, tax authorities and banking partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software (as used by Cloudfactory).
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills for financial analysis.
