Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment and management of integrated road crash data systems for the EU‑funded Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance project. The role will support West African institutions in building harmonised, interoperable crash data frameworks and evidence‑based road‑safety monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems across the ECOWAS region.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into unified crash data platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems and monitoring tools for road‑safety performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality through validation mechanisms and support evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training and capacity‑building activities on crash data systems.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability and digital monitoring platforms.
• Proven experience working on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
