Senior Environmental Infrastructure and Waste Management Engineer

About the role

Vashi Impact Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Infrastructure and Waste Management Engineer to lead sustainable waste management projects that enhance public health and environmental outcomes. The role involves overseeing technical studies, feasibility assessments, and engineering designs for municipal solid waste and healthcare waste systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical studies, feasibility assessments, and detailed engineering designs for waste management infrastructure.
• Develop and implement Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMP).
• Design collection, transportation, and treatment systems, including Material Recovery Facilities, composting, anaerobic digestion, and healthcare waste treatment.
• Conduct waste characterisation, baseline studies, and financial/economic analyses (CAPEX, OPEX, tariff modelling).
• Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards across projects serving 300,000+ people or handling 50+ tonnes/day.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in municipal solid waste or healthcare waste management.
• Proven track record on at least four relevant assignments and three feasibility or design studies.
• Experience with projects of comparable scale (50+ tonnes/day, €5M+ investment).
