About the role
The Sewerage Attendant will maintain and repair the university's septic tanks, sewer lines and related drainage infrastructure. This hands‑on position ensures that all underground plumbing systems function safely and efficiently for the campus estate.
Key responsibilities
- Repair septic tanks, sewer lines and drains, including patching walls and partitions.
- Replace damaged drain tiles and underground piping, using caulking compounds and cement to create watertight joints.
- Extract and dispose of accumulated residues from pipes, monitoring for signs of broken lines.
- Excavate ruptured lines, remove broken pipe sections, and reinstall new sections.
- Replace or direct the replacement of soil materials around repaired sections.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Certificate in Plumbing.
- Excellent people skills and customer‑service orientation.
- Self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
- Good communication abilities.
