Staff Accountant – Entry Level

About the role

The Staff Accountant position is an entry‑level role focused on transaction management, bookkeeping and financial reporting for multiple clients. You will work closely with senior accountants to ensure accurate records, compliance and timely delivery of financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Record and classify daily transactions in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop) and manage bank feed coding.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist senior staff in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Process payroll entries, verify expenses and liabilities, and file quarterly payroll reports (Form 941) and year‑end W‑2s.
• Prepare and submit 1099 and sales‑tax filings in accordance with IRS deadlines.
• Communicate with clients to obtain missing documents, answer coding questions and provide status updates.
• Support new client onboarding by configuring accounting software and workflow systems.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with at least one month of relevant experience.
• Willingness to learn under the guidance of senior professionals and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with payroll processing and related tax forms (e.g., Form 941).
• Familiarity with 1099 and sales‑tax filing requirements.
• Ability to perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
