Staff Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Join Curely AI’s Machine Learning team to lead the development of the core intelligence layer that powers clinical risk stratification, NLP‑driven chart review, and predictive diagnostics across the platform. You will collaborate with top researchers and engineers to advance applied clinical AI at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end training pipeline for clinical foundation models, from data ingestion to production deployment.
• Design and implement pre‑training, fine‑tuning, and RLHF workflows on more than 4 billion de‑identified clinical records.
• Define evaluation frameworks and benchmarks in partnership with clinical informatics leads.
• Drive architectural decisions for next‑generation clinical NLP and vision models.
• Mentor senior and mid‑level engineers and establish ML engineering best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with product and clinical teams to translate research advances into measurable patient outcomes.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of ML engineering experience, including at least 3 years at a staff or principal level.
• Proven track record shipping large‑scale foundation models or ML systems to production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in large‑scale model training using frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
• Strong understanding of distributed training, mixed‑precision, and model parallelism.
• Experience with RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback) workflows.
• Familiarity with clinical NLP, EHR data, and HL7/FHIR standards.
• Experience working in HIPAA‑compliant data environments.
• Knowledge of federated learning or privacy‑preserving ML techniques.
