Technical Director – Global Health & Infectious Disease Program

About the role

The Technical Director provides strategic technical leadership for a global health project, ensuring high‑quality design, implementation, and technical assistance across all objectives. Reporting to the Chief of Party and working closely with consortium partners, headquarters staff, and country missions, the role aligns activities with donor priorities and global best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Define and refine the project’s technical strategy, theory of change, and results framework.
• Oversee design, planning, and execution of infectious disease surveillance, IPC, HCID readiness, screening, triage, isolation, and referral pathways.
• Monitor implementation progress of International Medical Corps (IMC) and partners, identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
• Develop and disseminate technical tools, SOPs, guidelines, and training materials.
• Support epidemiologists, IPC specialists, and other technical staff in strengthening alert‑to‑action and containment capacities.
• Facilitate consortium coordination, technical meetings, and learning exchanges to ensure integrated, complementary contributions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global health, infectious disease control, and health‑systems readiness.
• Proven ability to provide strategic vision while delivering hands‑on technical guidance.
• Strong collaboration skills with multi‑disciplinary and multi‑national partners.
• Familiarity with CDC guidelines and other international health standards.
