Technical Supervisor

About the role

The Technical Supervisor oversees the end‑to‑end local fabrication and outsourced production of custom‑made furniture, ensuring that designs are translated into precise technical packages and delivered on time, within budget, and to exact specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Convert creative designs into comprehensive technical production packages, including AutoCAD/SolidWorks shop drawings, Bill of Materials and hardware specifications.
• Identify, vet and onboard local furniture manufacturers, negotiate timelines, costs and quality SLAs, and allocate jobs based on supplier strengths.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for external partners, conduct on‑site inspections at critical fabrication stages, and enforce strict quality control standards.
• Track production schedules across multiple vendors, mitigate supply‑chain bottlenecks, and coordinate final inspections, packaging and logistics.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Wood Technology, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Fine Art or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of technical quality control, contract manufacturing management or senior workshop supervision within the regional furniture ecosystem.
• Proven experience dealing with regional suppliers is a distinct advantage.

Required skills

• Expert use of Pin/Pinless Wood Moisture Meters (10%–12% threshold).
• Digital Calipers & Micrometers for precise measurement of gauges and thicknesses.
• Coating Thickness Gauges for paint, lacquer and powder‑coating testing.
• Lux Meters / Surface Comparators for finish uniformity and color matching.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating detailed shop drawings.
• Ability to produce accurate Bills of Materials and hardware specifications.
