Test Engineer – Payment Switch

About the role

ATMFuse is seeking a Test Engineer specialized in payment switch and ATM systems to join its Kampala team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of payment applications across the full testing lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end testing projects for medium to large‑scale payment solutions.
• Define and execute test strategies, plans, scenarios, and traceability matrices.
• Set up test environments and produce status and final test reports.
• Drive automation testing across workstreams, designing reusable automation assets.
• Conduct walkthroughs with testing teams and manage minor script modifications.
• Stay updated on QA best practices, tools, frameworks, and standards.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of experience in ATM, payment switch, and card domains.
• Strong knowledge of payment schemes, networks, and certification processes.
• Proven ability to interact with internal teams, senior leadership, banks, and financial institutions.
• Experience leading testing projects using Agile methodologies.
• Ownership of testing deliverables from strategy to final reporting.

Required skills

• Switch testing and ISO 8583 knowledge.
• SQL proficiency.
• Familiarity with AS400 (advantage).
• Automation testing experience.
